Here are a few images I made back in June when I visited Tra Vinh Province in the Mekong Delta, that I just got around to processing now. These were taken in a pottery workshop in Vinh Long Province, where we stopped on the way back to Saigon.
It was a Sunday afternoon and raining heavily outside so there were only a few people still working while we were there. The workshop was quite dark inside and as I was shooting hand-held with available light I needed to use a high ISO. For the images of the potter wearing the blue shirt I used an aperture of f/2.8 to limit the depth of field and shutter speeds between 1/20 and 1/30, as I was trying to show the movement of the potter’s spinning wheel while still hopefully keeping the rest of the image relatively sharp. For the image of the potter in the orange shirt I used ISO 800 as there was a little more light in that part of the workshop, and a shutter speed of 1/60. He was moving quite quickly though so I still ended up with movement in the photograph.
